Noter:
Peder Thorsen was the owner (proprietær) of Gadebygård from 1681. He
was appointed guardian of his brother, for in 1677 and 1681 he is
known to have made payments
due on Tornegård, on his brother's behalf. He lived for about one
year at Lundsgård, 30' Slg. in the region known as Risen in Østerlars
parish, together with his first wife Boel
Rasmusdatter. Boel Rasmusdatter had two children in her first
marriage to Niels Ibsen. In a 12 man judgement dated May 10, 1680,
Lundsgård was awarded to her son from
her previous marriage: Rasmus Nielsen, born in 1662; he later sold it
to his older half-brother Hans Nielsen. On July 18, 1681 Peder
Thorsen and Boel Rasmusdatter
purchased Gadebygård in Østermarie from Mogens Christensen for 1,200
Silverdalers in cash. At the probate after Boel's death in 1686 he
agreed to pay his step-son Rasmus
Nielsen, who was living at Store Kannikegård in Bodilsker, 350
Silverdalers plus a horse worth 20 Silverdalers as his inheritance
from his mother. Gadebygård was estimated
at 700 Silverdalers His second wife Elisabeth Nielsdatter inherited
Kantedamsgård, 50' Slg in Vestermarie parish from her father. Peder
Thorsen sold this farm on May 15,
1702 to Poul Jensen for 440 Silverdalers. The probate records after
Elisabeth's death in 1707 show that Peder Thorsen wanted Gadebygård
to be valued at 700 Silverdalers,
as it had been in 1686; however his future son-in-law engaged to his
daughter Boel Pedersdatter, would not agree. The matter ended in
court with the decision that
Gadebygård was to be valued at 850 Silverdalers. According to the
Østerlars kirkebog Peder Thorsen was 59 years old when he died, thus
born circa 1660; however, this
can not be true - as he is known to have been his brother's guardian
in 1677, and thus must have been at least 25 years old, meaning he
must have been born before 1652.
